One dead in three-vehicle accident at MS Hwy. 27 and Paxton Road

A three vehicle collision occurred just before 5 p.m. at state Hwy. 27 and Paxton Road.

According to an eyewitness, a dark grey Honda Pilot attempted to pass a blue sedan in the northbound lane of Highway 27. The pass failed and the Honda swerved back into the lane striking the blue sedan.

A southbound 18 wheeler was unable to stop and struck the Honda, forcing it to roll into a ditch.

The driver of the Honda has died at the scene.

Avoid the area to allow law enforcement and rescue personnel time to work the accident.
