Serious injury in log truck accident

A log truck broadsided a Mercedes this today around 4:15 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 61 North at Culkin Road.

The driver of the log truck had no injuries.  The driver of the Mercedes,  Charles Lucas, 33, had just just moved to Vicksburg from California. This was his third day in town.

As you can see from the accident photos, it was a significant impact.

Lucas was responsive on the scene and transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
