Seth Posey, 61, died on Sunday, July 17 at Jackson General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23 at the Hattiesburg Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
Seth was born to Dr. L. Frank Posey and Dr. Betty Drake in Seoul, South Korea in 1960 and moved to Hattiesburg in 1968 where he lived the rest of his life. He earned a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi. While attending USM, he participated in The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band as a snare drummer. He was also a member of the Memphis Blues DCI Drumline. After earning his degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi, he obtained a position as a psychologist at the Ellisville State School, where he worked for twenty-five years. In his spare time, he was an avid player of both RPG’s and MMORPG’s. He was a loving husband, father, and a good friend to all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. L. Frank Posey and Dr. Betty Drake.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Posey of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Alice Legg of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Mark L. (Robyn Lea) Posey, Eric F. (Renee Mullianx) Posey, both of Vicksburg; a niece, Lauren (Mark) Different of Vicksburg; cousin, Melissa Wilson Smith of Huntsville, AL.
Visitation for Seth will be at 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23 at the Hattiesburg Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
