Several Cats Dismembered

Destiny Hice Winters, 20, and Michael Edward Winters, 24, are going through a divorce. They left their nine cats with a friend and would periodically check on them.

During one such visit, Michael Winters and the friend keeping the cats went to check on them when they saw Destiny and her boyfriend leaving the apartment. When Michael and his friend entered, they discovered several cats had been dismembered, “sliced up” according to a report from WALB in Albany, Ga.

WALB said an Albany Police incident report states “three dead kittens and another almost dead kitten were taken to a veterinarian by animal control.”

Police say that both Destiny and Michael were arrested because both bear responsibility for the care of the cats. They each have been charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal (1-count) and cruelty to an animal (2-counts).
