Severe storms likely overnight with potential of tornadoes and hail

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson is alert to severe weather conditions which may affect our area overnight.

The NWS has stated, “Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible late tonight into Saturday morning. Some thunderstorms could produce damaging winds and hail.”

Vicksburg/Warren County stands in a slight risk category for possible tornadoes with damaging winds and hail.

The NWS predicts wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour are possible, which may cause weaker limbs to break and cause potentially hazardous driving conditions.
