Severe weather expected to close out the week, again on Sunday

Multiple severe weather episodes are expected to end the week and again on Sunday.

Tonight (Friday), severe weather will be making its way through the area. 1 in. of rainfall is expected. Tornadoes are likely, some of which could be strong and long-tracked. Damaging winds of up to 70-80 mph are also anticipated, along with golf ball-sized hail. The severe weather is predicted to last from this evening into the overnight hours.

Downed trees and power lines are of concern. Please do not travel if it can be avoided and stay weather aware.
