Officers with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested a sex offender Tuesday for failure to register.

Investigator Stacy Rollison and Deputy Johnny Beauchamp arrested Harold Lee Love,70, at a location on South Washington Street.

Love was convicted in 1996 of attempted rape in Lowndes County. He has resided in Alabama, Missouri and Mississippi since his conviction. At times he has used the alias of Harold Lee Henley, according to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.

Pace said Rollison is tasked with keeping track of sex offenders in Warren County, and she works vigorously to monitor them.

Love had his initial court appearance Thursday morning and was given a $10,000 bond. His case will be presented to a future term of the Warren County grand jury.

Under Mississippi law, sex offenders must register with the county sheriff where they take up residence.
