It’s been 28 years since Louisiana State had Shaquille O’Neal putting up major points for the school, but now his son, Shareef O’Neal, has announced that he will transfer to LSU from UCLA.

O’Neal is a freshman at UCLA where he is only averaging 2.2 points per game. He also has a heart condition that caused him to miss the 2018-2019 season after he had surgery.

In 2018, O’Neal helped Crossroads High School in Santa Monica, Calif., win the state championship where he scored 29 points and 17 rebounds.

His father, Shaquille O’Neal, played at LSU from 1989 to 1992 before entering the 1992 NBA draft. Many consider him one of the best players in NBA history. He retired from the Boston Celtics in 2011.
