Sharkey County provides tornado recovery information (Apr. 14, 2023)

Attached are the tornado recovery updates from Sharkey County Emergency Management for April 14, 2023.

Highlights:

  • Disaster SNAP is coming to Sharkey County. April 18 – April, 22 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., MS Christian Family Services, 394 Pine St. For more details, visit: MDHS.MS.GOV
  • Mississippi State Department of Health Multi-Agency Coordination Center is open today, 19881 Highway 61 S., 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Representatives will be on hand to help you obtain a new birth certificate and administer free tetanus shots. Tomorrow April 15, representatives will be available to replace driver’s licenses lost in the storm.
  • MEMA has entered into an agreement with the American Red Cross to assist with temporary lodging. To qualify for this program, survivors must register first with FEMA at DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-3362. Displaced storm survivors who need temporary lodging under this program should call: 1-800-RedCross. (1-800-733-2767).
