Chasty Moore was awakened the middle of the night by a phone call from her sister saying that their mother, Sonya Gilmer, was unresponsive.  By the time she got to the house, she says her mother was already gone.

“I’m not even sure what happened,” Chasty said. “This is so sad and hard. My sister and I were not prepared for this.”

Processing the grief and shock, especially on Mother’s Day, has been very difficult for the family Sonya Gilmer left behind.  Sonya was only 47 years old and did not have a life insurance policy.

“We really want to have a service for her.  She was the best and most good I’ve ever had in my life,” Chasty said.

The family has set up a GoFund Me to raise money for cremation and a memorial service for Sonya. Click here to donate.

“She is dearly loved and will be missed by so many,” Chasty said. “Now she’s with her mom and dad and her brothers.”
