Community bids Shealy farewell at MCITy reception

Superintendent Chad Shealy of the Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) was bid farewell at a reception held at MCITy on Sunday afternoon.
Friends, family and colleagues came together to recognize Shealy for his contributions to education in the community. Among the speakers at the reception was Deputy Superintendent David Campbell, who was once Shealy’s art student at Byram Middle School. He commended Shealy for his dedication to his students and family, stating that part of his legacy is the love he has for not just his children, but all the children around him.
Mayor George Flaggs Jr. also presented Shealy with a commemorative plaque from the City of Vicksburg recognizing his ten years of devoted service to VWSD. Shealy expressed his gratitude to his family, particularly his wife Shannon Shealy, for supporting his career in education. Additionally, he shared his excitement for his future plans of starting a new education consulting firm.
Shealy stated that with the new firm, he will be able to continue to engage and help communities all over the state.
