Sheriff and mayor honored Vicksburg’s own centenarian
Vicksburg resident Elizabeth Williams is celebrating her 100th birthday on this Monday, April 5, 2021.
Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. and Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace were able to drop by and express their best wishes for many more birthdays to come to Ms. Williams, with her niece, Margaret Segrest in attendance for the occasion.
Williams was a certified nursing assistant and worked until her retirement in 2006.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said he was honored to be in attendance and was truly amazed at how spry Williams remains. Pace added that he has known Williams all of his life and remembers her kindness in caring for family members while she worked at various hospitals.
“Can you only imagine what this woman has seen in her lifetime?” Pace asked. Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr echoed Pace’s sentiments “ It was my highest honor to join the Sheriff in celebrating Ms. Williams 100th birthday as Mayor of Vicksburg. ”
Pace wants to remind the public that everyone in the photo has been fully vaccinated.
We would like to extend Ms. Williams with our own Happy Birthday and best wishes from her friends at Vicksburg Daily News.
