Sheriff Pace provides details on Camelot Estates shooting
The victim in yesterday’s shooting in Camelot Estates has been identified as 57-year-old Jeffrey Young, Sr.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace addressed the public in a press conference Wednesday morning, offering details of the crime.
Just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, the Sheriff’s department was alerted by a 911 call of a shooting in the 6000 block of Castle Road. Responding deputies found Young, Sr. in his front yard suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Paramedics arrived and shortly thereafter summoned Warren County Coroner Kelda Bailess who pronounced the victim deceased.
The victim’s son, Jeffery Young, Jr., 23, and the victim’s wife, Tracie Young, 55, were taken into custody and booked within a few hours of the crime.
According to Sheriff Pace, the incident seemed to have escalated from an argument between Young Sr. and Young Jr.
Jeffery Young, Jr. has been charged with first-degree murder. Tracie Young has been charged with accessory after the fact.
Sheriff Pace states multiple crime scene investigators are working on the case and several others are assigned as well.
Both suspects are being held without bond in Warren County Jail until their initial appearance in County Court Wednesday morning.
