Two men were seriously injured in a collision on Oak Ridge Road in Warren County on Saturday, Sheriff Martin Pace says.

Just after 11 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies, Warren County Firefighters and a Vicksburg Fire Dept. ambulance were dispatched to Oak Ridge Road where it intersects with Henry Road.  They arrived to the scene of a violent crash that left one driver entrapped in his vehicle.

Sheriff Pace said that a 2016 Subaru SUV appears to have been heading south on Oak Ridge and attempted to make a left turn onto Henry Road, colliding with a northbound 1997 Nissan pick-up truck in the intersection.

Responders had to use emergency extrication equipment to get the driver of the Nissan out of the vehicle.

“Both drivers were originally transported to River Region Medical Center,” Pace said. “It is our understanding that the driver of the Subaru remained at River Region for evaluation and treatment, but the driver of the Nissan was transported by helicopter to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.”

Sheriff Pace says he will release the names of those involved when he is confident that all family has been notified.
