Sheriff Pace reports an 8-year-old hit by car on Garden Grove

According to Sheriff Martin Pace, just after 2 p.m. Vicksburg Warren 911 received a call of a child hit by a car on Garden Grove in the Oak Park subdivision.

Units arrived to find an 8-year-old child and her friend were crossing the street when one of the children, the 8-year-old, was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound. A Dodge Charger was driven by Sherrod Dillamar who lives in the area.

The child was transported to Merit Health River Region by ambulance where they were treated and released.

The accident remains under investigation.
