Two are in custody after a search warrant was executed on a Vicksburg residence, revealing methamphetamine and a firearm.

A joint investigation between the Vicksburg Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office over the past month led authorities to Herrod Street where a search warrant was executed.

Upon searching the residence, authorities found just under 2 grams methamphetamine, enough to constitute a felony. A .22 rifle equipped with a flashlight attachment was also recovered from the scene.

Cassidy Gurley, 41, and Josh Rush, 37 were taken into custody.

Gurley is charged with possession of methamphetamine and currently has a detainer placed on her from the Mississippi Department of Corrections for probation violation. Rush has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm. He also has a detainer from MDOC for parole violation.

The investigation is still ongoing. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace stated they cannot rule out the possibility of more arrests as the investigation moves forward.
