Warren County deputies responded to the call and arrived to find Sheila Marie Hedrick, 48, dead. Sheriff Martin Pace stated she was found with at least one gunshot wound.

Shoemaker was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

During his initial appearance in court, Shoemaker was ordered to be held without bond until an official bond hearing could be scheduled to allow Shoemaker council, at the request of District Attorney Ricky Smith.
