Apparent shooting in Warren County

A man apparently shot his sister in Warren County Friday afternoon.

A call came into emergency dispatchers around 5:30 p.m. that a shooting had occurred at the Clear Creek Campground at 415 Tiffentown Road in Bovina. The caller was the 83-year-old grandmother of the suspected shooter and the victim.

Sgt. Silento McMorris of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office located the victim who had suffered a wound to the head, although officers could not confirm it was a gunshot wound. She was conscious at the scene and is being transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The suspected shooter fled the scene, but is wll known to law enforcement.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
