Shooting on MLK Boulevard

At least one person has been shot in a shooting incident on the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard just after 5 p.m. Sunday evening.

One individual has been transported by private vehicle to Merit Health River Region for treatment, but it is suspected that at least one other person was hit in the gunfire.  Initial reports indicate that at least five rounds were fired in the altercation.

The incident was reportedly the result of an argument about another shooting incident that occurred earlier this year.

Vicksburg Police are on the scene and conducting their investigation.
