UPDATE/CORRECTION: The Vicksburg Police Department does not have the shooting suspect in custody.

In a statement released around 6:50 p.m. Friday, VPD states that Akeyah Daniels, a 26-year-old female, shot twice at a male subject who was in the parking lot. No one was injured in the incident, but a Nissan Altima parked in the lot was struck by one bullet in the right front fender.

Daniels is being sought by Vicksburg Police for one count of drive-by shooting.

Original story:

An argument, apparently over a parking spot, turned into a shooting Friday in Vicksburg.

Vicksburg police and Warren County deputies responded to the 2200 block of Grove Street to the apartments near Cross Street around 3:30 p.m. Friday initially on a report of a loud argument.

No one was injured, but police are continuing to investigate the incident. One vehicle shows evidence of being shot.

Police have taken one person into custody that may have a connection with the incident, and they confiscated two weapons.
