Shooting victim in Sunday morning homicide has been identified

At 1:32 a.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2023, a Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a blue Nissan Maxima wrecked on First North Street near the intersection with Clay Street.  Inside the vehicle was Brendyn Carman, 20, of Vicksburg.  Carman had received multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

At the same time, Vicksburg Police officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 1600 block of Court Street where they found an 18-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported by ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.

During the course of the investigation, it has been determined that both incidents are related, and both victims were known to each other.
