Shots fired into building wounds three Natchez men during card game

An early morning card game in Natchez ended abruptly when a stream of bullets was fired into a building. Three men were wounded as a result.
According to the Natchez Democrat, around 4:30 a.m. Saturday shots were fired into a building occupied by six men enjoying a card game.
A barrage of bullets was fired into the building from the street outside; the second time in the last two weeks according to Natchez Police Chief Joseph Daughtry.
According to the report, 67-year-old Percy Knight and 68-year-old Eli Grunnel were grazed by bullets on the head and the face. 67-year-old Adolf Green was struck in the arm.
Daughtry told the Natchez Democrat that the injuries were not life-threatening and some did not require medical attention. He also stated that investigators do not believe these men were targeted in any way. “These gentlemen just happened to be there,” he stated.
Evidence from the scene was recovered, according to Daughtry. The incident remains under investigation.
