“Significant threat for some dangerous cold” overnight Thursday into Christmas weekend
Warren County Emergency Director John Elfer states a “significant threat for some dangerous cold” overnight Thursday and through Christmas weekend is expected for Warren County.
“It looks like, overnight Thursday, into Friday and through the Christmas weekend, we’re going to have some significant threat for some dangerous cold,” said Elfer.
Low temperatures are expected to be in the teens with wind chills below freezing. Elfer states the highs will struggle to get above freezing for several days.
“Now is the time to be planning for folks that may have heating issues,” said Elfer.
Elfer went on to state that the elderly should be checked on, outdoor pets should have shelter and pipes should be protected from freezing temperatures.
“We don’t expect any frozen precipitation,” said Elfer. “We may see some snowflakes, maybe some sleet. We don’t expect any accumulation.”
