VICKSBURG, Miss. (Vicksburg Daily News)–Two big players are returning this season to Porter’s Chapel Academy and Vicksburg High School after losing many starting defensive tackles after graduation.

Maureon Simms, junior lineman for the Eagles, has shown his skills over the years and is set to have another successful season. He managed to bust through the line to rack up 35 tackles in 2020 while playing on the offensive line.

Caleb Bryant, defensive lineman for the Gators, is one of the top lineman in the city, leading the entire county with nine sacks last season to go along with his 46 tackles.

As their season approaches, Bryant and Simms will have major roles on their teams. Expectations will be high as many fans, teammates and coaches will depend on them to show out this season.
