Smith led Warren County high schools in sacks this year

Warren Central football player Taylen Smith wrapped up his senior season of football with the Vikings on a high note.
Smith holds the record for all high schools in the Vicksburg Warren School District for defensive sacks this season. He helped lead the Vikings to the playoffs under head coach Josh Morgan, finishing with eight sacks on the year, and he was a key reason the Vikings had a successful 9-3 season.
Smith’s talent was apparent early in the season when he had 15 tackles in the Red Carpet Bowl against Vicksburg High School. By the end of the season, he finished with an impressive 43 tackles.
Smith’s skills aren’t limited to tackling. He also made two interceptions and returned them both for touchdowns.
His high school football career may be over, but Smith announced Wednesday that he had received a scholarship offer from Coahoma Community College.
He has not officially committed to any school, yet, as he could be receiving more offers soon.
