A 16 x 80 mobile home on Smith Drive caught fire late Friday night. The unit was unoccupied and appeared to have been abandoned.

Just before midnight, Warren County Firefighters from NorthEast, Culkin and other stations in the county responded to a report of an abandoned mobile home fire on Smith Road.

Fire Boss Jerry Briggs arrived on the scene first and reported fire in two separate locations on the 16 x 80 trailer. Engine 209 from Culkin arrived shortly thereafter and a 1 and 3/4 inch hose was charged to address the fire on the backside of the trailer.

Neal Pryor assisted FireBoss Briggs as Zack Hearn, Chief at NorthEast took control of the scene as the Incident Commander. Chuck Tate in 205, also from Culkin arrived shortly thereafter to refill 209. A second line was run and the fire was put under control from both sides.

For the next hour, firefighters worked to completely extinguish the fire and eliminate any hotspots. Just before 2 a.m., the last units left the scene.
