Some VWSD teachers concerned about decrease in take home pay on their January paychecks

Educators throughout the Vicksburg Warren County School district have raised concern over the decrease in their take-home pay for the month of January.
Some educators are experiencing a $50-$150 a month decrease in their pay.
An email from Billia Knight to the district shows the 2022 tax chart. The email states, “Many of you have inquired about your 2022 federal income tax. For your convenience and review, I am providing the 2022 Federal Income Tax Brackets and Rates.” The email then presents a chart with the 2022 rates.
Numerous educators from other districts have commented on social media that their paychecks were not decreased.
The Vicksburg Daily News emailed media contact Christi Kilroy about the issue and Kilroy responded, “The District complies with income tax laws and regulations set year to year by the State of Mississippi and the Federal Government.” Kilroy went on to mention the email from Knight.
