Sports Illustrated cover features Deion Sanders, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter

Hall of Fame football player and current Jackson State Head Football Coach Deion Sanders is back on the cover of Sports Illustrated for the first time in 25 years.

Not only is Sanders on the cover of Sports Illustrated, but his son Shedeur Sanders and his top recruit Travis Hunter is also featured alongside him.

Sanders is coming off a 2021 SWAC Championship season where he was named as the SWAC’s Coach of the Year. Shedeur threw for 3,321 yards and 30 touchdowns while Hunter will make his college debut this Fall.

“You guys in college, man, got a darn cover. Something I never did, even with all the history I showed you. That is a blessing,” Sanders said in a statement.

JSU has been in the spotlight since Sanders took over the team and successfully landed major recruits for the program.
