St. Aloysius track star Brennon Williams has now signed an athletic scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi.

Williams is coming off an amazing career with the Flashes after running under Head Coach Michael Fields. He racked up a total of five state championships during high school and, most recently, the 200 and 400 meter class 4A title in 2021.

Although COVID-19 cut his junior year track season short, Williams still managed to train hard with Fields and earn a well deserved scholarship.

“I feel like its a once in a lifetime opportunity to be apart of a D1 program and get my school paid for,” Williams said. “The program has a lot of up sides and being a part of it is something I can’t wait to do and I want to thank everybody who supported me and most importantly Coach Fields for putting in the time and effort with me because I wasn’t always a great athlete and wasn’t always easy to deal with when it comes to trying to help me be a better person in general,” he added.

The Utica, Mississippi native will now move on to become a Golden Eagle and continue putting his great athletic ability to use on the track and VDN will continue to follow his amazing success in the near future.
