St. Aloysius High School announced their plans to create a volleyball team for the 2023-2024 school year.

For the first time in school history, St. Aloysius High School will be home to a Lady’s Volleyball Team. Head Coach Allison McSherry and Assistant Coach Danielle Bergeron will lead the newly formed Lady Flashes Volleyball Team, beginning Fall 2023.

McSherry, who has been a teacher since 2020 and is the Assistance Athletic Director at Vicksburg Catholic School, has spearheaded the program. She brings twelve years of experience coaching girls’ volleyball in Indiana and Mississippi.

“I’m so excited to bring volleyball to VCS and St. Aloysius.,” McSherry said. Our female athletes deserve to have the opportunity to play a game that I have enjoyed since I was in junior high. I have enjoyed coaching for a decade with kids ages 9-18. It’s an amazing sport and I am looking forward to making school history by having the first team.
