St. Aloysius defeated Prairie View Academy

St Al basketball players

Vicksburg, Miss.-St. Aloysius High School basketball teams finished Monday night with wins over Prairie View Academy. Both the girls’ and boys’ teams picked up victories.

Lady Flashes won 42-33

St. Aloysius trailed 10-8 in the first quarter as Olivia Larsen knocked down a 3-pointer. By halftime, the Lady Flashes took the 18-15 lead as Larsen hit another 3-pointer along with Megan Theriot.

Taryn Lusby and Farrell Roberson came alive in the third quarter as they both hit multiple shots. Theriot hit another 3-pointer in the fourth quarter while Mallory Hobson and Elle Larson both came out with layups.

Game Stats:

Megan Theriot has 9 points and 14 rebounds 

Taryn Lusby 9 points and 6 rebounds 

Olivia Larson 7 points 

Farrell Roberson 6 points and 15 rebounds 

Annslee Averett 4 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals 

Mallory Hobson has 4 points 9 rebounds 4 steals 

Elle Larson 3 points 

St. Al boys:

The Flashes came out with a 67-50 win after a slow start on Monday. PVA had a 13-12 lead as Anthony McCloud and Carson Gleese both kept the team afloat. 

Tre Lee came into the second quarter and hit a big 3-pointer while McCloud dominated inside the paint as the Flashes regained the lead. In the second half, Gleese and Sadler Lambiotte both hit a 3-pointer while McCloud took over in the fourth where he hit three 3-pointers.

Anthony McCloud had 32 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals 

Carson Gleese 11 points 

Carson Henderson 5 points and 5 steals 

Walt Andrews 5 points and 4 rebounds 

Laken Bradley 4 points and 4 rebounds 

Sadler Lambiotte 3 points and 4 rebounds 

The Lee 3 points 

Dru Gleese and Lanier Lambiotte 2 points 

Porter’s Chapel Academy Girls:

The Eagles took a 54-28 loss to Christ Covenant School. Jase Jung had 10 points and eight rebounds while Corvin Finch scored six points and Tyler Halter added five on the board. Morris Bailey and Shaffer Bell both scored two points.
