St. Aloysius football team defeated Winston Academy on Thursday night

St. Aloysius Junior High football team improved their record to 3-1 with a 34-14 victory over Winston Academy.
On the first play of the game, St. Al’s quarterback Walt Andrews had his pass intercepted, but the Flashes’ defense soon forced a turnover to regain possession.
Keller Bradley was a standout player, catching two touchdown passes from Andrews that spanned 22 and 85 yards. Bradley also made his mark with a 15-yard touchdown run.
Andrews himself scored on a two-yard quarterback sneak following a 45-yard pass caught by Grant Gattle. He also showcased his defensive skills by intercepting a pass.
On the defensive side, Evan Mallard made several crucial stops, including a notable 60-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Hayden Deweese was responsible for forcing the fumble. Joseph McDaniel managed to sack the quarterback and subsequently force a fumble, which was recovered by Ace “Jagger” Oglesby.
Max Hargrave was prominent in the defensive line with several tackles. Robust coverage by Dru Gleese, Landon Prentiss and Bradley ensured the opponent’s passing game was kept in check.
The Flashes will host TriCounty this coming Thursday.
