The St. Aloysius Junior High football team secured a significant 28-6 rivalry win over Cathedral.

On the first play of the game, Keller Bradley dashed for a 60-yard touchdown while running behind James Tate, Hayden Deweese, JT Smith, Ace Oglesby and Jay Conrad. He also snagged an interception on Cathedral’s first offensive play.

Quarterback Walt Andrews connected with Evan Mallard on a quick pass that covered 10 yards, which was followed by a 20-yard touchdown run by Bradley.

Before halftime, Landon Prentiss caught a 29-yard pass from Andrews, but St. Al eventually lost possession. Andrews then intercepted a pass in Cathedral territory, putting the Flashes in good field position. Prentiss sprinted for a 20-yard run to the two-yard line, setting up Andrews for a touchdown with a quarterback sneak.

By halftime, St. Al led 22-6.

Late in the game, Andrews scored another touchdown from a short run. On the game’s final play, Prentiss secured another interception. Defensively, Mac Connell, Max Hargrave, Scoot Melton, and Joseph McDaniels all made significant stops.

The Flashes now have a 2-1 record for the season and will face Winston Academy on Thursday.
