St. Aloysius football kicked off practice this week under the leadership of new head football coach Stacy Sizemore.

The Flashes started practice Monday with weight room workouts and drills to help them get back in the groove of playing sports. All players had to remain 6 feet apart from each other due to COVID-19 restrictions.

While some players were lifting in the weight room, others were in the gym going over different forms of movement and stretches.”Flexibility is the key,” Sizemore said.

The Flashes are the first team in Vicksburg to kick off practice. The workouts scheduled now are completely voluntary but many members of the Flashes football team showed up to prove they are ready for a big upcoming season.

Grades seven to 12 participated in the workouts as the Flashes seek to improve and finish better than the year before. St. Aloysius finished last season with a 5-6 record but are expected to do great things under Sizemore who was hired in February.
