St. Aloysius picked up their second district win a row on Saturday
St. Aloysius got their second district win in a row on Saturday in a 7-3 victory over Central Hinds.
The Lady Cougars found themselves ahead 2-0 by the end of the second inning until the Lady Flashes stepped up in the third.
A walk got St. Al on the board, followed by a single from Abby Mikulski which brought in two runs that gave the Lady Flashes a 3-2 lead. Kyleigh Cooper then stole a base at home that got St. Al a 4-2 lead by the end of the third.
Neither team managed another run until the fifth when Ali G. Luke got a double. Cooper then singled putting the Lady Flashes up 6-2. Central Hinds got one run in the fifth to make the score 6-3 with St. Al still leading.
Maddy McSherry got a double in the final ending and St. Al took the 7-3 lead after a walk.
Cooper struck out eight and had one hit with two RBIs at bat. Mikulski also had two RBIs and one hit on the day.
Luke, McSherry, Macy Stauble and Lydia Nettles each had a hit in the win and Lili Perniciaro had one RBI.
