St. Aloysius put away Jackson Victors 9-5 on Saturday to remain undefeated

St. Aloysius is the hot topic in town as they sit with a 4-0 record after knocking off Jackson Victors 9-5 on Saturday.They are clearly making a statement while they are off to their best start in over a decade under head coach Mike Foley.
Jackson Victors managed to get the first run from a steal and led 1-0 by the end of the first. Doubles from Megan Theriot and Ali G. Luke along with an RBI from Kyleigh Cooper would give the Lady Flashes a 3-1 lead heading into the fourth. Madison Spencer hit a single in the fourth but St. Al would maintain their three-run lead heading into the fifth.
In the top of the fifth, Davis hit a 3-run home run for Victors followed by a single which put them up 5-3. The Lady Flashes responded with singles from Madelyn Kavanaugh(2 RBIs), Spencer(RBI) and Kyleigh Cooper(RBI) along with a couple of walks which led to them regaining the lead with the score at 9–5 at the end of the fifth.
“I knew that we needed more hits so that motivated me when I stepped up to bat and the odds went in my favor,” Kavanaugh said.
The score remained the same going into the seventh as Kavanaugh struck out the final batter in the win.
Theriot, Spencer and Kavanaugh all had two hits Maddy McSherry, Luke and Cooper all finished with one hit. Cooper struck out seven on the night.
The Lady Flashes will travel to Madison St. Joe on Monday.
