St. Aloysius boys soccer player Reed Bourne has now officially signed a scholarship to Holmes Community College to further his playing career on the collegiate level.

Bourne, who is a defender, held a signing signing ceremony at his high school where he was surrounded by his friends and family as he took the next step in his life.

Bourne has been playing soccer since the age of four, and he is now witnessing his hard work pay off by earning a well-deserved scholarship. He was coached by Jay Madison, who trusted Bourne to help lead the Flashes in the right direction.

One of Bourne’s best performances this season was against Pillow Academy where he managed to get two goals and one assist for his team. He was also named the Most Valuable Player in the MAIS All-Star Game earlier this year.

After finishing his senior season, Reed decided that Holmes CC was the best place for him to advance his career.

“I really liked the coach and the environment was nice which helped me easily chose Holmes CC,” Reed said.

Although Bourne worked really hard throughout the years, he thanked the individuals who helped him succeed on a great level.

“I would like to thank my parents, Coach Madison, and all my teammates who stuck by me throughout the years,” Reed said.

Reed was also a member of the Flashes football team and his is the son of Scott and Karen Bourne.

Vicksburg Daily News will continue to provide updates on Bourne’s success as he will soon be playing at Holmes.
