Statement from Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs – More help on the way
Vicksburg Daily News received a statement from Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs:
“I’ve remained in contact with Entergy Mississippi and they’ve just confirmed to me that an additional 12 crews have been assigned to Vicksburg to assist in restoring power as quickly as possible.
Our City crews are working around the clock to restore water service to our customers and clear debris from streets. I’m asking everyone to keep working with us. In another 12-14 hours, we’ll be out of this.
Please continue to check on all family members, particularly the elderly in our community. The City will continue doing everything we can to assist. If you need me, or if there’s anything I can do to help you, call my cell phone at 601.942.0492.”
