Steve McNair to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame

Mississippi native Steve McNair will be inducted into the 2020 College Football Hall of Fame. The announcement was made Wednesday on ESPN2.
Steve McNair was one of the greatest players to ever play football especially in his college years at Alcorn State University. He came in third for the Heisman Award in 1994, finishing his college football career with 16,823 yards. He also led the Braves to two conference titles in 1992 and 1994.
Making the First Team All-SWAC team every year in college led McNair to be selected as the third overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. He was drafted by the Houston Oilers, who relocated and were renamed the Tennessee Titans. McNair would spend most of his career with the Titans.
McNair was Co-MVP in 2003 and eventually retired in 2008. He was killed on July 4, 2009.
The award ceremony will be held on Dec. 8, 2020, at the New York Hilton Midtown.
