Storehouse Community Food Pantry is ready to serve
The Storehouse Community Food Pantry is open and ready to serve customers in need of food.
President Bill Mounger said few people have stopped by since the pantry reopened May 4 after being closed for about a month due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“No, we don’t need money and we don’t need donations of food,” Mounger wrote in an email. “What we need is people to come to the Food Pantry seeking food assistance. Since we reopened, we have had very small crowds of people coming to us. Monday we only had two people.”
Mounger added that volunteers would much rather be busy than to sit around with nothing to do.
The Storehouse Community Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays, and from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays. It is located at the Good Shepherd Community Center at 629 Cherry St. in Vicksburg
