Strong storm moving through Warren, Issaquena and Claiborne counties

At 11:39 p.m. Saturday the National Weather Service in Jackson issued a Special Weather Statement:

…A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southern East
Carroll, northeastern Tensas and Madison Parishes, western Warren,
northern Claiborne and southwestern Issaquena Counties through 1230
AM CDT…

At 1139 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Afton, or 13 miles southeast of Tallulah, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

This strong thunderstorm will be near…
Vicksburg and Le Tourneau around 1155 PM CDT.
Yokena around 1205 AM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this storm include Mound, Delta and
Richmond.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
