Student freed from stuck elevator at Vicksburg Jr. High

Just before 5 p.m., Vicksburg Fire Department responded to a 911 call of a student stuck in an elevator.

An unnamed female student was reported to have been stuck in an elevator at Vicksburg Jr. High School. After a 911 call, the Vicksburg Fire Department quickly responded. Rescue and Engine 6 arrived on the scene to assist.

Before VFD could arrive, the school’s resource officer managed to power up the elevator and free the student.  She then quickly fled the area after escaping the elevator. VFD did not make contact with the student.
