Student stabbed at Cleveland Central High School

At around 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the Cleveland Police Department was alerted to a disturbance at the Cleveland Central High School campus.
Upon the arrival of Cleveland Police Department School Resource officers along with other members of the department, a student was quickly detained by the School Resource Officers and other school district administrators. After an investigation into the incident was conducted, 18-year-old Jamarion Dumas, of Cleveland, was arrested without incident for the charge of Aggravated Assault for allegedly stabbing another student.
After Dumas was transported and booked at the Cleveland Police Department, he was given an initial appearance before a Cleveland Municipal Court judge, at which time bond was set at $100,000.
This case will be turned over to the Bolivar County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
