Suspect Arrested for Shooting at Man, Another Being Held for MDOC

Warren County deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3400 block of Mt. Alban Road just after 6 pm. The report that came into dispatch claimed that shots had been fired in the area. Upon arriving on the scene, deputies quickly apprehended Roy Nelson Nickson, age 55, of 49 Beasley Road. Nelson and another man had been involved in an altercation which turned physical before Nelson retrieved a 9mm handgun and began firing at his opponent. Deputies recovered a 9mm handgun, which, according to witnesses at the scene, is the gun allegedly used by Nelson. Deputies also recovered at least one shell casing at the scene. Nelson is currently being held at the Warren County Jail pending his arraignment on aggravated assault charges when bond will either be granted or denied. Witnesses suggest that alcohol was seemingly a factor in the fight.]]]]> ]]>
