Suspect arrested in suspected domestic homicide in Little River area, Catahoula Parish

The Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office has reported an arrest in connection to a suspected domestic homicide in the Little River area on Highway 923. Sheriff Toney Edwards released a statement confirming the development.

The suspect, identified as Ronald Gene Baxter Jr., 50, of 1430 Little River Road, Jonesville, Louisiana, is currently in custody. The victim has been identified as Donna Renee Vance. Baxter has been charged with second-degree murder.

Sheriff Edwards has assured the public that the scene is secure and there is no immediate threat to community safety. As of this report, no bond has been set for Baxter.
