Suspect in Crawford Street murder apprehended in Texas

Quenterious “Woosie” Williams

An arrest has been made in the case surrounding the murder of Kelvion Winston. Murder suspect Quenterious “Woosie” Williams was captured in Texas.

The Vicksburg Police Department announced it was notified by the United States Marshal’s Service that Williams was taken into custody in the Dallas area.

He is to be extradited back to Vicksburg.

According to an earlier press release from the Vicksburg Police Department, on the night of June 8, Vicksburg police responded to a shooting on the 1600 block of Crawford Street. They found Kelvion Winston, 26, from Fayette, Mississippi, with a gunshot wound. Although he was rushed to Merit Health River Region, Winston died from his injuries.

Williams also served time for killing Jules Humphrey, who was shot in the head and killed in 2013. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2014 after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
