Suspect in custody at Eagle Lake after car and foot chase, attempting to evade officers

One suspect is in custody after attempting to evade Rolling Fork and Warren County officers. The incident concluded just before midnight and the new year.

A vehicle failed to yield and was chased by officers from Rolling Fork, eventually winding up in the 1800 block Eagle Lake Shore Road. The driver abandoned the vehicle at the levy and attempted to flee on foot.

The suspect ran through numerous fields in the area and eventually took to the water in an attempt to evade officers.

Numerous Rolling Fork and Warren County officers were on scene, including Deputy Stacy Rollinson and Sheriff Martin Pace.

The suspect eventually was able to be coached to the dock and taken into custody.

No one was injured during the incident.
