Man shoots his grandmother in Warren County

A shooting at 9774 U.S. Highway 61 South near the intersection of Glass Road Thursday around 8:30 a.m. has left one person wounded.

The suspect, a 25-year old male, reportedly shot his 71-year-old grandmother in the abdomen. She is on the way to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, but her condition is not known at this time.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, Major Randy Lewis and Investigator Zach Primeaux have the suspect in custody.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
