Escapee tried to break back into jail – currently on the run

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department is looking for an inmate who escaped from the jail and then tried to break back into jail. As strange as it may seem, this is the case, according to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 9:22 p.m. on Thursday, inmate Terrance Jones was noticed on security cameras trying to re-enter the jail. The incident was reported by a jailor.

Jones reportedly used a ventilation duct to access the roof of the jail. At the time he was reported, he fled on foot.

He is to be charged with bringing contraband into the jail.
