Suspects identified in shooting death of 15-year-old

On Monday, Sep. 19, at approximately 1:16 a.m., a shooting incident was reported by the Claiborne County Hospital.

The Sheriff Department was dispatched and was informed that a gunshot wound victim was transported via personal vehicle.

Upon our arrival, it was determined that Jermiah Howard (15 y/o black male) died as a result of the gunshot wound, he suffered. According to the witness, while traveling on Hwy 18, they noticed a dark-colored vehicle enter the highway from Citgo Store in pursuit of their vehicle and a few seconds later shots ranged out.

During our investigation, within an hour we were able to bring in several individuals for questioning.

Maliek Gardner (21 years of age), Justin Thomas (19 years of age), TeLen Guinn (18 years of age), and Ajavion Anderson (21 years of age), were all charged with one count each with murder and one count each of attempted murder.

This case is still under investigation.
